Two Holy Cross Community Members Named to Worcester Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty List

 



Isabelle Jenkins ’10, associate director of community-based learning at the College of the Holy Cross, and Elizabeth Belliveau ’07, founder of Enlightened Interventions, were named to Worcester Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” 2016 list. The list, which is published annually, highlights local people who have made a significant impact on their workplace and community before reaching age 40.

Jenkins, who lives in Cambridge, works to connect Holy Cross students with more than 30 organizations to “enhance their educational experience through community-based service and learning,” which was important to her when she was a student serving in El Salvador and Jamaica, the journal reports. She has also worked as a community organizer in Watertown, and was a presidential scholar at Harvard Divinity School, where she received a master’s degree in divinity.

When talking about the goals of the up-and-coming workforce, Jenkins emphasized the nature of acceptance. “We work tirelessly for tolerance, strong relationships and innovation,” she told the Worcester Business Journal.

Belliveau, who majored in psychology while at the College, founded Enlightened Interventions, a “full-scale wellness center” that offers yoga, counseling and massage, in 2014. She is also the site coordinator for Bay Path University's masters in mental health counseling program, a faculty member at Mount Wachusett Community College, and is on the board for the Rise Above Foundation, a nonprofit that provides children in foster care activities and opportunities that give them a sense of normalcy, comfort, and self-esteem building.

The recipients will be honored on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at an awards ceremony at Mechanics Hall.
