The leaves have begun to change. The air is crisp. What could make fall in New England more delightful? An array of events that are as colorful as the foliage.
1. Learn some fancy footwork. The Hibernian Cultural Center and Fiddlers’ Green Pub & Restaurant, 19 Temple St., offers free dance lessons covering celi, Irish set, ballroom, and two-step. People of all skill levels are invited every Monday at 7 p.m.
2. Go to the theatre. See the Foothills Theatre Company’s production of Moonlight and Magnolias, playing now through Oct. 19, or Take Me Out, on stage from Oct. 25 until Nov. 16.
3. Take in some art. Now through Oct. 26, The Essence of Nature in Brush and Ink, two pairs of six-fold Japanese inspired painted screens, are on display at the Worcester Art Museum. WAM is also hosting Sepia Memories: Nineteenth Century Photographs through Nov. 30.
4. Scare up some fun. In anticipation of Halloween, visit the Worcester Historical Museum and make your own trick-or-treat bag on Oct. 21 to 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Oct. 23 until 7 pm. It’s sure to be “spook-tacular.”
5. Stargaze. Drift into outer space as members of the award-winning Aldrich Astronomical Society, Inc., guide audiences on an exciting trip through the galaxy using telescopes at Worcester’s Ecotarium on Oct. 23.
6. Laugh away your stress. The finalists from NBC’s hit reality TV show “Last Comic Standing” will take the stage at the Hanover Theatre on Nov. 20.
