WORCESTER, Mass. – A group of distinguished Rwandan genocide survivors and activists will hold a panel discussion titled “Life After Genocide: Reconciliation and Justice in Rwanda” on March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Room 519 of the Hogan Campus Center at the College of the Holy Cross. The event is free and open to the public.
Speakers will include:
- Esther Mujawayo, genocide survivor, author, and trauma therapist
- Naasson Munyandamutsa, professor of psychiatry at the National University of Rwanda and founder of the Institute for Peace Research and Dialogue
- Augustin Nkusi, national prosecutor for the Rwandan State and former director of the National Service for Gacaca Jurisdictions
- Laure Coret, professor of French literature at Université de Paris VIII and member of the 2005 commission of inquiry investigating the responsibility of the French government in the Rwandan genocide
The event is sponsored by the Garrity Professorship in Human Nature, Ethics and Society; and the Lilly Vocational Initiative.
