Presidential Service Award Recipients 2001

The recipients of the Presidential Service Award for Commencement 2001 were honored at the Senior Awards Presentation on Thursday, May 24, at 12:30 p.m. in the Dinand Library Main Reading Room.

The award honors graduating students who "to an exceptional degree, have used their time, their talents, and their personal resources in the service to the College, their fellow students, the Worcester community, and all those who look to the students of Holy Cross for companionship, compassion and good company," according to Fr. McFarland.

In an address to students and their families, faculty, staff and administrators, Fr. McFarland lauded the students for helping "people, projects and issues that needed a strong voice and willing hands." He also encouraged the recipients of the award to continue to perform such wonderful works in their lives. He reminded them that there is "still so much more to do."

The Presidential Service Award is reserved for those few students who have singularly distinguished themselves by outstanding service throughout their career at Holy Cross.
