College of the Holy Cross alumnus Malcom Miller ’15, a philosophy major from Laytonsville, Md., has been selected by the Boston Celtics to join their summer league team.
Miller took part in the Celtics’ first pre-draft workout on May 21 and was asked back for the second workout on the Monday before the draft. He also worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Utah Jazz and the Philadelphia 76ers, and was invited by the Cavaliers to watch game six of the NBA Finals in Cleveland. Miller was invited to summer league play for both Cleveland and Utah, but he chose Boston.
“It was a tough decision” he said. “Their style of play fit mine very well so I felt I would be able to flourish in their type of system. It seemed like I had the best opportunity to make a difference with the Celtics.”
