WORCESTER, Mass. – Former Holy Cross quarterback Dominic Randolph (Amelia, Ohio) has signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants of the National Football League. The signing was officially announced by the Giants on Monday, April 26. Randolph is scheduled to take part in the Giants' three-day rookie mini-camp from April 30-May 2.
In 2009, Randolph was selected as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and the Harry Agganis Award winner, in addition to being named a second team All-American by the Associated Press and a third team All-American by the Sports Network. He completed 310 of 485 passes last season for 3,776 yards and 34 touchdowns. Randolph also led the team in rushing last year, carrying the ball 113 times for 480 yards and seven scores. He led the nation in total offense, while ranking second in points responsible for, third in completions, fourth in passing yards and 13th in pass efficiency.
Over the course of his career as a Crusader, Randolph completed 1,131 of 1,786 passes for 13,455 yards and 117 scores, while amassing 14,240 yards of total offense. He owns the Holy Cross and Patriot League career records for yards of total offense, passing yards, touchdown passes, completions and pass attempts.
Randolph will be joined at the Giants' rookie mini-camp by former Holy Cross offensive lineman Chris Poole (Scituate, Mass.), who will be attending the camp on a tryout basis. Poole was named All-New England and first team All-Patriot League last year, after being a second team all-conference selection in 2008. He started all 12 games for the Crusaders at right guard last season, as the leader of an offensive line which paved the way for Holy Cross to rank fourth in the nation in passing offense (314.9 yards per game), sixth in total offense (433.6 yards per game) and 15th in scoring offense (32.2 points per game). Poole started all 34 of Holy Cross' games over the last three seasons on the offensive line.
