The Mass Symphony Orchestra will present the 26th annual Holiday Pops Concert at Mechanics Hall on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. Worcester State College professor Christie Nigro, will direct the choir comprised of students from the College of the Holy Cross, Clark University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Worcester State. The choir will perform classic symphonic works; selections from Broadway musicals; and favorite music of the holiday season, conducted by Alton Baggett.
This year, there will be about 100 singers in the choir, 16 of which are part of the Holy Cross Chamber Singers.
Professor Nigro will talk about the concert on "Worcester: Academically Speaking," a weekly radio program educating the larger central Massachusetts community about the "intellectual capital" of the region’s colleges, on WTAG-AM 580 on Nov. 27 at 7:30 a.m.
