Gandhian and Peace Studies Scholar to Speak at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – Naresh Dadhich, Gandhian and peace studies scholar, will give a lecture titled “Gandhi is the Future, not the Past,” on Tuesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. in the Levis Browsing Room in Dinand Library at the College of the Holy Cross. The lecture, sponsored by peace and conflict studies, is free and open to the public.

In his presentation, Dadhich will talk about Gandhi’s relevance in today’s society.

Dadhich, the vice chancellor at Vardhman Mahaveer Open University in Kota, India and professor of political science at the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur, India, served as convener of the Peace Education Commission, International Peace Research Association. He is the author of six books including Gandhi and Existentialism (South Asia Books 1993); and his articles have appeared in professional journals in the UK, Australia, and the U.S. He received a Pell Fellowship at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. and directed the Center for Gandhian Studies at the University of Rajasthan in India.
