WORCESTER, Mass. – Tucker Frawley ’06, a former Holy Cross baseball star who received his degree in economics in May, has signed with the Worcester Tornadoes organization of the Can-Am League.
It’s a homecoming for the just-graduated New Haven, Conn., resident who will now play professionally for the Tornadoes at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field on the College’s campus.
Frawley, who was a three-time All-Patriot League selection and a three-time team Most Valuable Player selection, recently played at Fenway Park in the New England College Baseball All-Star game. It was Frawley’s second straight regional all-star game appearance.
“We are excited for Tucker to join the Tornadoes,” said Todd Marlin, the team’s general manager. “This will undoubtedly enhance the great partnership that we have with Holy Cross now that one of their former stars will be returning to Hanover Insurance Park.”
The five-foot-eight infielder finished his career as Holy Cross’ all-time hits leader (190 career hits). He currently ranks second in program history for career games played (147 games played) and hits in single season (65 hits in 2006), and is third all-time for RBI in a single season (37 RBI in 2006).
This past season, Frawley led the team in batting average (.380 batting average), at-bats, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, walks, total bases, and plate appearances.
Frawley was also honored for the third consecutive year with the Holy Cross baseball Hop Riopel Award, given to the team’s Most Valuable Player. Frawley is only the second player (Ronnie Perry, Jr. ’80) in program history to earn the award three times.
