As part of the Visiting Writers Lecture Series, Phillip Lopate will give a reading on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Levis Browsing Room (Dinand Library). The event is free and open to the public.Lopate is the author of 12 books and editor of five others. Currently Adams Chair Professor in the department of English at Hofstra University, Lopate has published dozens of literary essays, fiction, and poetry. His most recent publications include Waterfront published by Crown Books in 2004 and Getting Personal: The Selected Writings of Phillip Lopate published by Basic Books in 2003. His shorter pieces have been published in The Threepenny Review, The New York Times Book Review, Harper’s, The New York Times, and in many other newspapers, journals, and anthologies.
