World Renowned Celtic Tenors to Play Live at Holy Cross

The Celtic Tenors, a world renowned Irish trio, will be performing on Thurs., Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hogan Campus Center Ballroom at the College of the Holy Cross.  The concert is free and open to the public.

The Celtic Tenors include James Nelson, Mathew Gilsenan and Daryl Simpson.  They are one of the most successful crossover groups to come out of Ireland, singing an extensive mix of classical, folk, Irish and pop genres. They were signed on the spot to an international record label immediately following a London audition in 2000, an event so unheard of, it became legendary in the music industry.

The Celtic Tenors have performed for former President Bill Clinton, during a recent trip to the Dublin Castle, and later were invited to play at a private show for Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, at the request of U2 front man, Bono. The trio recently wrapped up their August Summer Festival Tour in the U.S. playing for tens of thousands of fans across the nation.

Their self-titled debut album immediately topped the charts in their homeland and in Germany going double platinum, held the number two spot in the UK, and made it the Billboard top ten in the U.S.  Their subsequent album, titled, So Strong, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios by legendary producer Mike Moran.  Remember me, their third CD was released last year and includes numerous guest singers. They Celtic Tenors have been invited to sing on many compilation albums, including the Official Rugby World Cup Album 2003, True Colors and The Official Classical Album for the Olympic Games 2004, Harmony.
