As the class valedictorian of your high school, and after being recruited by numerous athletic programs, why did you choose Holy Cross?

After coming here on an official visit for baseball, I quickly fell in love with the beautiful campus, hardworking and talented baseball players, and rigorous academics. I could not turn down the opportunity to be part of such a talented team and learn among so many diversely gifted students. I knew that the people at Holy Cross — my coaches, professors, and friends — would all have a positive impact on my life. In my first year courses — which include Economics, Accounting, History of Gender & Sports, Philosophy, and Anthropology — I’ve learned to appreciate the liberal arts learning that sets Holy Cross apart. This exposure to a wide range of subjects has provided me a broader range of knowledge that has helped me become more diversified. The academics and athletics at Holy Cross have pushed me to become a better man on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

What has surprised you about Holy Cross?

Growing up in Arizona, I hadn’t really witnessed the seasons before — especially winter. It was shocking to come here and experience the massive amounts of snow. The blizzards have been tough — but they have created many memories. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to see what all four seasons look like. They are a part of Holy Cross’ beautiful campus — which I would not trade.

What has been your best experience at Holy Cross thus far?

Playing in my first collegiate game. I was blessed to play at Texas A&M in front of 6,000 people — an opportunity I will never forget.

What else would you say about your experience on the baseball team?

I have found that the baseball team is filled with many other student-athletes who are driven by similar mindsets and future goals as me. Because of this, we are all able to push each other while also building a brotherhood that will last a lifetime.

What would you like to do after graduation?

I plan to continue my baseball career and play professionally. After I am done playing, I would like to go into business and work my way up to become CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
