Holy Cross and Redfeather Theatre present ‘Richard III’

A number of Holy Cross students, alumni, and faculty are part of the outdoor summer theatre production of Shakespeare’s Richard III.  Set in one of Worcester’s most beautiful settings—Green Hill Park Memorial Grove Amphitheatre—the play is presented by Redfeather Theater, in collaboration with Holy Cross. This is the fourth consecutive summer that Redfeather has presented Shakespeare in Green Hill Park, and the second year of Holy Cross’ collaboration with the troupe, which is now in residence at the College.

Performances are August 1-19, Wednesdays through Sundays, at 7 p.m.

Director Edward Isser, associate professor and chair of the theatre department at Holy Cross, has set the production in the Jazz Age of the 1920s.  Timothy John Smith, lecturer in acting at Holy Cross and a member of Actor’s Equity, has the title role.

Class of 2007 Valedictorian Patrick Gavin not only plays the rebel, Henry, Earl of Richmond, he is also the production’s technical co-director.

Alumni members of the technical and design teams are Jennifer Hannigan ‘07, Chris Kane ’07, and Jennie Nocella ’04.
