Photo Gallery: Holy Cross Students Get Professional Experience Through Summer Internships Across the Country

From accounting majors interning at Oprah Magazine to mathematics majors interning at General Electric, students of the College of the Holy Cross gained valuable career insights and directly applied their liberal arts education to the professional world this summer through internships across the country.

“Internships provide an opportunity for Holy Cross students to demonstrate their ability to think critically, communicate clearly, adapt and solve complex problems in a complex and nuanced work environment,” shares Amy Murphy, director of the Center for Career Development. “Internships also provide an opportunity for students to explore how their interests, strengths and values can best intersect with the needs of the world.”

Internships help prepare students for today's highly competitive job market where employers are seeking entry-level hires who can immediately make contributions, Murphy explains.
