Live Video: College Historian to Discuss ‘Jesuits and the Development of Holy Cross’

History Professor Fr. Kuzniewski author of book on history of Mount St. James

On Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., Rev. Anthony Kuzniewski, S.J., professor of history, will give a live online talk titled “Jesuits and the Development of Holy Cross” for Holy Cross alumni, friends and prospective students.

Fr. Kuzniewski, a renowned Holy Cross historian, will speak about the establishment of the College in 1843 and discuss how the Jesuits and their lay associates built upon that foundation — within the context of promoting educational excellence and service to Church and state. The challenge has always been to be "the best Jesuit undergraduate liberal arts college it can possibly be."

At the end of the 15-minute talk, Fr. Kuzniewski, author of Thy Honored Name: A History of The College of the Holy Cross, 1843 - 1994, will answer questions submitted online. You may submit questions for Fr. Kuzniewski at any time during the lecture by using our chat room. Fr. Kuzniewski will also accept questions via Twitter (#HCLive or @hcalumni), e-mail (hcalumni@holycross.edu), or Facebook.

Bookmark the online location and be sure to tune in at 7 p.m. on Feb. 8.

This special event is presented by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Education Program in collaboration with the Office of Public Affairs.
