Students returning to Holy Cross from winter break will see evidence of the record-setting snowfall of 30 inches of snow that fell in December — but only in snow mounds. The rest of the snow melted in surprisingly high temperatures earlier this month (67 degrees on Jan. 8!).
Ah, winter in New England. Never a dull moment. In fact, this unseasonably warm weather probably won’t stick around for long.
The average snowfall for Worcester is 65 inches, which means we’re not even halfway toward reaching that amount.
No matter what the weather, the Office of Student Affairs has plans to keep students warm when they return to campus on Jan. 13 with WinterFest events. Classes begin Jan. 16.
