Holy Cross Presents Second Annual Condé Nast Lecture on Media, Ethics and Value

WORCESTER, Mass. – The second annual Condé Nast Lecture on Media, Ethics and Values will be presented at Holy Cross on Wednesday, April 9 at 8 p.m. in the Rehm Library. The discussion is free and open to the public.

The lecture will feature a distinguished panel of journalists who will address the topic, "Media Coverage of the Crisis in the Church: Three Views." Panel participants include Walter Robinson, lead investigative reporter, Globe Spotlight Team, The Boston Globe; Peter Steinfels, New York Times columnist; and Joseph Bergantino '73, investigative reporter, WBZ-TV, Boston.

Walter Robinson has been a reporter and editor at The Boston Globe for almost 30 years. During that time he served as a political reporter, national and foreign correspondent, assistant managing editor for local news, and city editor. He is currently the editor of the Globe Spotlight Team.

Peter Steinfels served as the senior religion correspondent for The New York Times from 1988 to 1997. He continues to write a biweekly column for The New York Times on religion and ethics titled "Beliefs." A widely published author on topics including international affairs, medical ethics, church history, politics and religion, and morality and warfare, he is also the author of The Neoconservatives.

Joe Bergantino, an investigative reporter for more than 20 years, currently serves as an I-Team reporter for WBZ 4 News on WBZ-TV 4 in Boston. An adjunct faculty member at Boston College since 1995, he has also taught at Boston University and Emerson College and served as a contributing editor for Boston Magazine from 1996-2001. Bergantino has been honored with several prestigious awards for excellence in journalism.
