Telegram & Gazette March 31, 2008 "Students participate in Holy Cross Cares" Four-hundred students, staff, and faculty at the College of the Holy Cross volunteered for the 11th annual Holy Cross Cares Day — the biggest turn out in the history of the event. Over the weekend participants performed service-oriented tasks at 20 different sites in Worcester.

Worcester Business Journal March 31, 2008 "Bringing The Mission Home" Harvey G. Clermont '61, who was inspired to become a doctor while at the College of the Holy Cross, has dedicated his life to medicine; including taking mission trips for child medical care and establishing free care clinics for the uninsured.

The exhibition, running through April 5, displays the work of seven artists that addresses aesthetic and ethical issues concerning the natural world, especially the animal kingdom.

Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education Spring 2008  "Physicality:  Bodies, Buildings, Beauty" The spring 2008 issue of Conversations includes a faculty discussion, moderated by Timothy Austin, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College, about the place of physical development and well-being in the Jesuit commitment to education the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.  Also included is an essay by Paul Covino, associate chaplain and director of liturgy, on liturgy on Jesuit campuses.  His essay — "More Than Words Can Say" — is illustrated with photographs of the Mass of the Holy Spirit and the Mary Chapel.

BBC February 4, 2008 "Composer of the Week" Osvaldo Golijov, Loyola Professor of Music at the College of the Holy Cross and renowned composer, talks about his life and music in a five-part series as the BBC's "composer of the week."

WBZ-TV February 4, 2008 "Local Man Behind Obama's Inspiring Speeches" WBZ-TV comes to the College of the Holy Cross to talk to the professors who were most influential to Jon Favreau, a member of the class of 2003. Favreau, at the age of 26 is Barack Obama's chief speechwriter.

The Boston Globe January 31, 2008 "Holy Cross to offer free tuition for low-income students in Worcester" The College of the Holy Cross announced yesterday that enrolling students from families with incomes below $50,000 will receive four years of free tuition.

The Chronicle of Higher Education January 31, 2008 "Colleges Take Stock of What a Recession Could Mean" Paul E.
