Holy Cross was featured in a Worcester Magazine article as part of its Health & Wellness issue for the College's focus on promoting a healthy workplace.
The magazine highlighted both the College's wellness program, in collaboration with Fallon Health, and its commitment to having a full-time dedicated resource on site, a role that is filled by Jenn Coode, the Fallon Health worksite wellness manager.
"I think it’s critical to have wellness as part of the workplace because that culture has totally shifted," said Coode. "We don’t just go to work and go home. We’re so connected to work because of the technology."
The wellness program started when college administrative officials wanted to offer "something more robust" to faculty and staff for health and well-being, according to Melissa Cutroni, office coordinator for human resources and certified worksite wellness professional.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, Holy Cross was named a 2019 WorkWell Massachusetts Award Silver Level Winner for exemplary worksite health promotion. The award recognizes the College's achievements developing, implementing and participating in corporate health improvement and wellness programs.
