Holy Cross Kimball Film Series Fall 2007 Schedule

Breach - Rated PG-13 Wed., Aug. 29: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Chris Cooper, Ryan Phillipe and Laura Linney. Inspired by the true story of the greatest security breach in U.S. history, an FBI agent is selling top secret information to the Soviet Union. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, waiting to find out if this spy will be caught.

Hot Fuzz - Rated R Fri., Aug. 31 and Sat., Sept. 1: Showings at 7 p.m. Starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. From the creators of Shaun of the Dead, this is a laugh-filled tale of a big city cop shipped off to a small town by his jealous bosses.  Trying to acclimate himself to a quiet country town, he stumble upon a series of suspicious accidents and events.

Pan’s Labyrinth - Rated R Wed., Sept. 5: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Sergi Lopez and Maribel Verdu. It's 1944, the Spanish Civil War is over, but there is still armed resistance. A young girl, whose stepfather is a sadistic military officer, escapes the evil and violence, by creating her own bizarre, but captivating fantasy world.

Knocked Up - Rated R Fri., Sept. 7 and Sat., Sept. 8: Showings at 7 p.m. Starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl in a one night stand, sure to end all others. The party is over for fun loving party animal Ben Stone, when his one night stand shows up on his doorstep to tell him she's pregnant. You’ll laugh out loud during this crudely funny yet romantic comedy.

Days of Glory - Rated R Wed., Sept. 12: Showings 3 and 8 p.m. The true story of World War II's forgotten heroes starring Jamel Debbouze, Samy Naceri and Sami Bouajila. Four North African men enlist in the French army to liberate the county from Nazi oppression. Amidst discrimation, they fight bravely in a story of courage, sacrifice, heroism and futility.

28 Weeks Later - Rated R Fri., Sept. 14 and Sat., Sept. 15: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring Robert Carlyle and Catherine McCormack. The zombies from 28 Days Later are back and they're just as nasty as ever. The Rage virus returns, turning ordinary people into cannibals, wreaking havoc across London. If you want to survive, you'd better run.

Paris je t’aime - Rated R Wed., Sept. 19: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Steve Buscemi and Natalie Portman. A group of internationally renowned directors examine life and relationships in Paris, paying tribute to the city, its people and, of course, to l'amour.

Blades of Glory - Rated PG-13. Fri., Sept. 21: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring Jon Heder and Will Ferrell. It's a farce set in the world of competitive ice skating. Two rival Olympic skaters are stripped of their gold medals and permanently banned from the men's single competition. The laughter begins when they find a loophole that will allow them to qualify as a pairs team.

Away From Me Wed., Sept. 26: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Julie Christie and Michael Murphy. A woman is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and her husband rages ineffectually against the disease. The film raises the question of what happens to love when memory is gone.

Golden Door - Rated PG-13. Wed., Oct. 3: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Charlotte Gainsbourg. A magical movie that tells the story of a Sicilian family's brutal journey, from their arid farm to Ellis Island, in hopes of finding a better life.

The Namesake - Rated PG-13 Wed., Oct. 10: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Kal Penn and Jacinda Barrett. It's the story of an Indian family settling in the United States, unwilling to let go of their traditional ways.  Their son, wanting to fit in among his peers, learns the trials and tribulations of a bi-cultural existence.

Spiderman 3 - Rated PG-13 Fri., Oct. 12 and Sat., Oct. 13: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Peter Parker/Spidey goes from adolescence to adulthood in this action-packed sequel. During his intense journey, he finds new villains, including himself.

Waitress - Rated PG-13 Wed., Oct. 17: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion. It's a warm tale about a pregnant, unhappily married waitress who falls into an unlikely relationship with the newcomer in her town. Find out if this last attempt at happiness will give meaning to her life.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End - Rated PG-13. Fri., Oct. 19 and Sat., Oct. 20: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring Johnny Depp, Kiera Knightly, and Orlando Bloom. Captain Jack Sparrow and crew are at it again.  Their latest adventure brings them to the end of the world (literally), when they sail off the edge of the map.  Despite this setback, they are determined to save the world, themselves, and of course, any damsel in distress.

Once - Rated R Wed., Oct. 24: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. A modern-day musical, featuring two anonymous Dublin musicians, who write, rehearse, and record songs that tell their love story.

Oceans 13 - Rated PG-13 Fri., Oct. 26 and Sat., Oct. 27: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt and all the rest of the Hollywood A-list actors. Once again, Danny and the gang shake down a casino in this funny, loose and well-oiled caper film.

A Mighty Heart - Rated R Wed., Oct. 31: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Angelina Jolie and Dan Futterman in an event that shocked the whole world. It’s the story of Daniel Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter, who was kidnapped and murdered in 2002. The film focuses on his wife, Mariane, her courageous wait and coping with the terrifying and unforgettable beheading of her husband.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - PG-13 Fri., Nov. 2 and Sat., Nov. 3: Showing at 7 p.m. Starring Daniel Radcliffe and Ralph Fiennes. Harry and the Hogwarts crew work to save their headmaster from a Ministry of Magic witch-hunt.  Voldemort hovers menacingly in the background, while a pink-clad sadist tries to take over the school.

La Vie en Rose – Rated PG-13 Wed., Nov. 7: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Marion Cotillard. This astounding film portrays the sad, tragic life of the legendary French singer, Edith Piaf.

Live Free or Die Hard - Rated PG-13. Fri., Nov. 9 and Sat., Nov. 10: Showings at 7 p.m. Starring Bruce Willis and Justin Long. In this action-packed sequel, evil cyber masters try to take down the U.S. government by hacking into their computers.  Only NYPD cop, John McClane, can foil their dastardly plan.

Sicko - Rated PG-13 Wed., Nov. 14: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Michael Moore. In this documentary, Michael Moore compares the American health care industry to the universal healthcare system in other nations. He interviews Americans that have been refused health care, putting their horror stories on the big screen.

Hairspray - Rated PG. Fri., Nov. 16 and Sat., Nov. 17: Showings at 7 p.m. Starring John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer. The 2002 musical hits the big screen.  Tracy Turnblad, a pleasantly plump teen, takes on integration issues in1962 Baltimore, after scoring a spot on a T.V. dance show.

Rescue Dawn - Rated PG-13 Wed., Nov. 28: Showings at 3 and 8 p.m. Starring Christian Bale and Steve Zahn. The film re-enacts a U.S. Navy pilot's survival in the jungles of Laos during the Vietnam War. It's a man versus nature tale, where both sides fight each other to the end.

Ratatouille - Rated G.  Fri., Nov. 30 and Sat., Dec. 1: Showings at 7 p.m. This clever cartoon showcases the voices of Brad Garrett, Janeane Garofalo and many others.  You’ll fall in love with, Remy, a young rat in the French countryside who winds up cooking in a fancy Parisian restaurant. Find out if his dream to become a chef turns into a reality.

The Bourne Ultimatum - Rated PG-13. Fri., Dec. 7 and Sat., Dec. 8: Showings at 7 p.m. Starring Matt Damon and Joan Allen. Jason Bourne, the efficiently ruthless action figure, is back and ready to take Manhattan, confronting the nasty government outfit that made him an assassin.
