College of the Holy Cross has joined a group of top colleges and universities around the country in introducing a fast, user-friendly and free tool to help prospective students and their families get a quick estimate of what a Holy Cross education would cost after accounting for financial aid.
The new online tool, called "MyinTuition," asks users to provide basic financial information on family income, home value, mortgage balance, cash assets, and savings held in retirement accounts and other investments. Based on those details, families receive individualized estimates of the cost of attending the College, including scholarship assistance, work-study opportunities and out-of-pocket costs.
"Our hope with introducing MyinTuition is that more prospective students and their families realize that a Holy Cross education is within reach for any qualified student, regardless of their financial situation,” said Ann McDermott '79, director of admissions at Holy Cross.
In order to ensure that a Holy Cross education is accessible to all admitted students, the College is committed to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated need, as calculated according to nationally recognized financial aid criteria. For the academic year 2018-2019, 53% of our full-time beginning undergraduates received grant/scholarship aid.
Created by Phillip Levine, the Katharine Coman and A. Barton Hepburn professor of economics at Wellesley College, MyinTuition is the quickest college cost calculator available to date, taking less than three minutes to complete. The tool will complement the more detailed "Net Price Calculator."
