On Sunday, Oct. 8 neighboring collegiate marching bands will join together at the College of the Holy Cross for the fourth annual Northeast Collegiate Marching Band Festival. Gates will open at 11 a.m., and the festival will begin at 12 p.m. on Fitton Field. Tickets will be $5 at the gate, and the event is open to the public.
Collegiate marching bands from institutions across the northeast will perform for fellow marching bands and audience members, who will enjoy one vastly-different production after another. Marching bands not only rouse spirits at collegiate games, but are representations of each school’s special characteristics and traditions. With that in mind, the festival hopes to focus on the overall experience each of the marching bands bring to their stadiums and arenas.
Boston College will kick off the festival at 12 p.m, followed by 20-minute performances from six other participating schools. Together, over 1,000 collegiate musicians and performers from across the Northeast will be performing.
The participating college marching bands are: Boston College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Boston University, College of the Holy Cross, University of Albany, University of New Haven, and the University of Connecticut.
