Edward T. O’Donnell ’86, associate professor of history at the College of the Holy Cross, is one of several experts participating in a History Channel two-part series on President Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy.
The documentary, "Theodore Roosevelt," explores "a rich, panoramic portrait of the first modern president of the United States – Theodore Roosevelt, a champion of social justice, a passionate conservationist," according to the series’ description. The episodes are executive produced by Doris Kearns Goodwin, Jennifer Davisson, Leonardo DiCaprio and RadicalMedia, and is based on Goodwin’s New York Times bestseller, "Leadership: In Turbulent Times."
O’Donnell discussed the regulation of "big business" as part of Roosevelt’s domestic policy known as the Square Deal. The first episode appeared on the History Channel on May 30; the second will air May 31.
