In a CNN.com article about the cost of the Olympic Games, Victor Matheson, professor of economics at the College of the Holy Cross, warns that boosters may not always portray the most accurate financial information to taxpayers in host cities.
"I would say these folks are really good at adding and multiplying, but not very good at subtracting," Matheson said. "There is very little evidence to suggest hosting the Olympics provides much of an economic benefit."
