Junior forward Malachi Alexander totaled 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists, as the Holy Cross men’s basketball team defeated Lehigh 59-56 in the championship game of the Patriot League Tournament at Stabler Arena on March 9.
The video above shows the final 25.6 seconds of the 2016 Patriot League men's basketball championship game as Alexander knocked down his second of a pair of made free throws to put the Crusaders up by three. Lehigh fired up four three point attempts in the final moments but Holy Cross escaped and punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007.
Holy Cross earns the Patriot League’s automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
Selections and pairings will be announced on Sunday evening between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on CBS.
