Children of Worcester Invited to Experience ‘Wonders of Physics’

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross will continue its "Hogwarts at Holy Cross" science series on April 16, beginning promptly at 1 p.m., in Swords Atrium followed by a stage show at 2 p.m. in Haberlin Hall, Room 103. The program is intended for children (through 10th grade) and families in Worcester, particularly the College Hill and South Worcester communities. The event is free.

The event, the sixth in the series, will feature a wealth of hands-on science activities emphasizing physics and the environment followed by an exciting physics show by the "Wonders of Physics" traveling show from the University of Wisconsin. The show, begun in 1984, generates interest in physics by presenting fast-paced physics demonstrations chosen as entertaining and educational.

The event is cosponsored by the Holy Cross Marshall Fund, Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, Holy Cross Science Ambassadors, Society of Physics Students, Student Ambassadors Developing External Relations (S.A.D.E.R.) and the department of physics.

Photographers are welcome to attend the event.
