Bob Cousy '50 returned to Holy Cross on Feb. 7 to witness the dedication of the basketball court in his honor.
Prior to the pregame ceremony, Cousy, 97, took part in a Q&A with fellow Crusader Bill Simmons '92, author, sports journalist, and founder of sports and pop culture website, The Ringer.
The court was blessed by Rev. Earle Markey, S.J., '53, a fellow All-American Crusader, who was drafted by the Celtics but declined the opportunity to join the Society of Jesus.
Also joining Cousy at half court above were, left to right, Rev. Keith Maczkiewicz, S.J., associate vice president for mission and ministry at Holy Cross; Fr. Markey; Cousy's daughter Ticia; Holy Cross President Vincent D. Rougeau; former Holy Cross trustee Bob Atchinson and Kit Hughes, vice president of intercollegiate athletics.
