Why She Chose Holy Cross: My mom participated in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after she graduated from college and has always said that she met more people in this program who went to Holy Cross than any other school. Because of this evident commitment to service and social justice, I looked into Holy Cross and immediately felt that it encompassed much of my aspirations and goals for college. Being on campus for the first time filled me with awe and excitement, and becoming a Holy Cross student solidified my confidence in my college decision because of the college's strong and connected community, beauty of campus, activities in Worcester, basis in Jesuit spirituality, and flexible and unique liberal arts curriculum.
Activities: Student Government (Co-Director of Sustainability), Eco-Action, Feminist Forum, Pride, Pax Christi, SPUD, Campus Ministry (Immersion Programs), Office of Student Involvement (Gateways Orientations), Arts Transcending Borders, Washington Semester Program
What She's Most Looking Forward To: This fall, I am most excited to be part of the Gateways Fall Orientation and Washington Semester Program. I am looking forward to welcoming the incoming first-year students to their new home away from home and also to working in D.C. and connecting with HC alumni. I am thankful for all of the opportunities to expand our communities and connect with others at and beyond Holy Cross.
Why She's Blogging: I am blogging to share a glimpse of how wonderful and exciting it is to be a Holy Cross student and to describe some of my adventures throughout the year. Every Holy Cross student has a different journey, and each is special and full of potential. I want to give back to Holy Cross for all it has done for me by writing about all the opportunities it has, and I want to put my education into practice, which what better way to do so than to write!
