According to The Baltimore Sun, Broderick Johnson ’78 is leading the Obama administration’s effort to reach out to young men of color, most recently in Baltimore, Md., near his childhood home. Johnson, who majored in philosophy at the College and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1983, is Assistant to the President and Cabinet Secretary, as well as Chair of the My Brother’s Keeper Task Force, which was created last year to engage private businesses and foundations in the effort to help young black men close education and employment gaps.
"The president has been very clear with me, to go and listen to what people have to say, to go and listen to what young folks are saying," Johnson said in the article. "These young folks are not cynical. There was a lot of hope."
