At the Summer Internship Program Office’s inaugural poster session, participants shared their experiences with faculty, administrators, and peers.
The students talked about the skills they learned, the initiatives they spearheaded and the professional and personal growth they underwent — and answered questions from other students interested in applying to some of the internship sites.
The Summer Internship Program is unique in that internships have been created by Holy Cross alumni and/or parents of current and past Holy Cross students, and are earmarked specifically for the College’s students. In addition, students are offered full support throughout the internship process by staff.
“The majority of SIP students describe their experiences as positive. They are able to experience what it is like to work in a professional setting and be given substantive projects,” says Pamela Ahearn, associate director of the Summer Internship Program.
Seven students who interned at a variety of sites — including Autism Speaks, General Electric Co., and Massachusetts General Hospital — spoke about the value of the program.
