Members of the Class of 2016 spent all summer waiting for the start of college — and they were not disappointed.
As students streamed through the gates of Holy Cross on Aug. 25 for move-in day, they were greeted by the welcoming hollers of more than 250 student leaders, athletic teams, alumni, parents and even Rev. Philip Boroughs, S.J., president.
It only got better from there: once they drove up to their residence halls, those same volunteers swarmed their vehicles and moved in the first-year students to their rooms.
Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s continued into the afternoon for the traditional Mass of the Holy Spirit on the Hart Center Lawn to inaugurate the new academic year. Led by Fr. Boroughs, the Holy Cross community welcomed members of the Class of 2016, transfer students and their families.
