More than 700 members of the Holy Cross community lived out the Jesuit call to be "men and women for others" through several community outreach efforts in April.
On April 20, Working For Worcester brought out 540 volunteers to renovate 12 community recreation sites. Roommates and hockey teammates Jeffrey Reppucci '14 and Derek Kump '14 spent months planning the city-wide project designed to promote city pride and provide necessary improvements to Worcester's recreational spaces.
On April 13, 200 students, faculty, staff and alumni participated in the annual Holy Cross Cares Day. Volunteers painted, raked and picked up trash at schools, churches, and parks throughout the City of Worcester. The Holy Cross alumni club of Worcester cleaned up Cookson Park.
Holy Cross Magazine's summer issue, out in early July, features a cover story about Worcester, exploring how Crusaders give back to their city and how they enjoy the "Woo's" cultural gems and fun hot spots.
