We don’t play favorites, but April and May rank pretty high among the 12 months here on Mount St. James.
Trees bloom in pale pink and white, in brilliant greens. Flower beds are restored with color. Days lengthen and sparkle with sunlight. Lawns beckon for classes and conversation, for relaxing and play. We walk and look, and gain an entirely new perspective — taking our time after months of quickly scurrying back inside, on paths from Stein to the Library, from Kimball to Hart.
Each spring marks the end of an academic year, of course; but also delivers the promise of opening books on new chapters, taking groundbreaking next steps, and treasuring vivid memories of life at Holy Cross.
