Who will come out on top in the 2012 presidential election: Barack Obama or Mitt Romney? If the polls are to be believed, it's a tight race. The Electoral College will play an integral role in determining the victor.
Donald R. Brand, professor and chair of political science, recently presented a live online lecture titled “The Electoral College and How It Is Shaping the 2012 Presidential Election.” He began his talk with an explanation of how the Electoral College has evolved to its current form, before turning to the 2012 election and the campaign strategies both candidates are using in the battleground “swing states.”
Brand’s online lecture was recently streamed on the Holy Cross website as part of a series by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Education Program in collaboration with the Office of Public Affairs. These online lectures feature Holy Cross’ exceptional faculty and are designed to keep alumni engaged and thinking critically.
