Payton Shubrick ’15, co-president of the Student Government Association (SGA) at the College of the Holy Cross, was featured as Go Local Worcester’s Central MA College Standout, a weekly feature that profiles college and university students in Central MA.
A political science major with a concentration in Africana Studies and Peace and Conflict Studies, she said, "Political Science drew me because of my natural interest in law and government. I found it fascinating how things function in politics and why certain political institutions have cultural pressures depending on location."
In the interview, she said she is passionate about "education and empowering both myself and others to make change for the better. I feel that all things are possible with hard work and collaboration.”
In addition to her role in the SGA, Shubrick is also a member of the women’s track and field team and the Black Student Union (BSU).
