From thousands of miles away at Holy Cross, Michael Spada ’18 continues to give back to his Southern Nevada community, particularly Sunrise Hospital where he overcame a form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2010.
Spada, who understands first-hand what hospitalized children are experiencing, delivers blankets to young oncology patients at Sunrise, having collected and distributed more than 8,000 so far according to an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal that highlighted Spada’s efforts.
“The hospital gave me my life back, and I wanted to give something back,” the psychology and political science double major was quoted saying.
