The College of the Holy Cross is one of the nation’s best colleges for students seeking great academics, outstanding career preparation, and generous financial aid – according to The Princeton Review. The publication featured the College as one of 200 schools in its new book , “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck” (Penguin Random House / Princeton Review Books, Feb. 2, 2016).
Students told The Princeton Review “I realized with a degree from here, I can get a job almost anywhere,” and the “large and strong” alumni network provides further professional connections. Students say Holy Cross “does an incredible job of giving its students a very broad education [and] preparing them with the tools for the real world.”
The Princeton Review editors praised professors for making students’ four years at Holy Cross an extraordinary value. “The emphasis here is on teaching and learning, not research,” said an enthused a freshman to the publication. “Faculty is accessible in and out of the classrooms.”
“No student or family should be dissuaded from applying to Holy Cross because of the price tag,” said The Princeton Review. “Holy Cross is need-blind in its admissions policy, which means the decision to admit students to this highly selective liberal arts college is made without regard to a student’s ability to pay. Additionally, Holy Cross meets 100 percent of a student’s demonstrated financial need with a combination of scholarship grants, loans, and work-study.”
The Princeton Review chose the schools based on ROI (return on investment) ratings it tallied for 650 school last year. The publication considered everything from academics, cost, and financial aid to graduation rates, student debt, and alumni salaries and job satisfaction.
