In a Telegram & Gazette profile piece, Rev. Philip L. Boroughs, S.J., tells reporter Jackie Reis that he is looking forward to his presidential inauguration, and that he has big plans for Holy Cross’ future.
He also revealed his intent to purchase a retreat center that could be used by students, faculty, and staff, allowing them to “enter into silence and reflectivity and sometimes conversation.”
Though the future is bright for Holy Cross, the focus is on the present, as Fr. Boroughs celebrates his inauguration on Friday, Sept. 14. Although he is busy preparing for the ceremony, he explains that he still leaves time to explore Worcester. About life in the city beyond the Hill, he says, “you really get engaged, and I enjoy that.”
