The College of the Holy Cross music department is ready to kick off its fall concert series with special performances throughout the semester, which will include installments of the Tuesday Lunch Concert series featuring Holy Cross artists-in-residence; a Holy Cross Chamber Players concert featuring Mark Kroll on harpsichord, Carol Lieberman on violin and guest performer Thomas Fritzsch on viola da gamba; and the Gamelan Gita Sari concert.
On Thursday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m., the Thelema Trio, also called Sequenza 21, will bring their own unique style of chamber music in the 21st century to Brooks Concert Hall. Consisting of Ward De Vleeschhouwer on piano, Peter Verdonck on saxophones, and Rik de Geyter on clarinets, The Thelema Trio seeks to combine classical training with a shared love of jazz and rock. The concert will include guest performances by Luciano Berio, Lucien Posman, Francis Ubertelli, and Chris Arrell, associate professor of music.
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m., the highly-anticipated “Mozart” artists-in-residence concert will be held, featuring students of the music department in collaboration with Holy Cross’ artists-in-residence. This all-Mozart program showcases Mozart’s maturity and depth, which are wonderfully apparent in the intimate setting of his chamber music works.
The Fall 2017 concert series will include the following musical performances on campus throughout the semester. All events are free and open to the public. For additional information, please contact the music department events line at 508-793-3503.
