The play is set in Victorian England, where the notorious miser Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.  Each ghost takes Scrooge on a sentimental journey to his past, present, and future, where he is forced to confront his sins and re-examine his life.  The play is a story of hope and redemption as Scrooge is finally able to embrace the virtues of love, compassion and Christmas cheer.

The Alternate College Theater is a student organization at Holy Cross. In each production, students manage every aspect from directing and acting to lighting and set design. In A Christmas Carol, Brielle Hart ‘10 directs; other members of the production staff include lighting designer Rachel Alulis ‘09, costume designer Alexandra Osgood ‘10, set designer Emalee Blumhagen ‘10, and stage manager John Grassey ‘10.
