In the Sunday Business Matters section of the Telegram & Gazette, Rev. Philip L. Boroughs, S.J., president of the College of the Holy Cross, talked about his decision to become a Jesuit priest, his first introduction to Holy Cross, the role of technology and society’s obsession with screens, and shared his excitement over two major initiatives aimed at enhancing offerings in the arts and spiritual development.
“Probably the most exciting thing is that the school has received the single largest monetary gift in its history,” he told the Telegram & Gazette. “Alumnus Cornelius B. Prior, class of '56, gifted $25 million in order to construct and fund a performing arts facility. This was announced two weeks ago and it's something we are quite excited about. Additionally, we have received gifts from two other alums that are earmarked for an off-campus retreat center, which will help us to expand our strong retreat program.”
