In a recent interview with NBC’s “Today” show, Bill Simmons ’92 revealed that his new talk show, “Any Given Wednesday,” will touch on pop culture, tech, and where “stuff” is going.
However, behind all of these topics, Simmons’ new show, which aired on Wednesday, June 22 at 10 p.m. on HBO, is really about talking to people. “I love having conversations with people,” Simmons said in the interview. “The show is really geared around that.”
Simmons’ first guests were actor Ben Affleck, and basketball analyst Charles Barkley.
When asked who his dream guest would be for the show, Simmons said the First Lady would be a contender.
“I find Michelle Obama intriguing. She talks about girls in sports…things she cares about. Things I care about, because I have an 11 year-old daughter who plays soccer,” he said. “I think that would be a good conversation.”
Throughout all four years at Holy Cross, Simmons, a political science major, wrote his column, “Ramblings,” for The Crusader, student newspaper, in addition to working as sports editor for two semesters.
