The College of the Holy Cross has been included in the listing of ‘10 Great Colleges That Don"t Care About Your SATs’ by Money. According to the outlet, which is a subsidiary of Time Inc., this list was compiled of schools that were also ranked as “best value,” meaning students receive a good return on their investment to attend. Money wrote, “Some of the nation’s best-value colleges—including several famous and elite schools—have ‘test optional’ admissions policies.”
Since 2006, Holy Cross has implemented the SAT optional policy, believing that SAT scores do not reflect the personalized application process. Rather, Holy Cross Admissions focuses on a student’s rigor of secondary education and their interview, among other qualifications.
According to a student interview conducted by Money, “Holy Cross is the ideal college for a motivated, intellectual student who wants to broaden his or her worldview. In attending Holy Cross, not only will one learn in the classroom, but thoughtful discussions can be heard in myriad places from the dining halls to common areas in the dorms.”
