The Class of 2016 Arrives on the Hill

Under sunny skies on August 25, Mount St. James was abuzz with activity and anticipation as the 767 members of the Class of 2016 arrived on campus. Alumni, staff and student volunteers welcomed the freshman class and their families, helped with the heavy lifting and got everyone settled into their new rooms in no time flat.

More Important Welcomes

There's another new "class" on campus—recently hired faculty members. This year's group includes one endowed chair, 11 tenure-track positions and two postdoctoral teaching fellows. The College also welcomed six new Trustees to the Board as well as Derek Zuckerman, who has joined the Office of Student Affairs as the new associate dean for student life.

Summer Research Program

For about 120 Holy Cross students, the summer months offered a chance to do research alongside their professors as part of the Summer Research Program. In a variety of disciplines—the sciences, economics, theatre and classics among them—students engaged in graduate-level work.
