Van Houten, M.D., ’61, Financial Aid Fund, which will provide assistance to Holy Cross students who are either orphans or children of single parent families.

Ten-year-old William Francis Bennett left school in 1910 to help support his newly widowed mother. The young Worcester native went to work for a florist to help make ends meet. He had to let go of his dream to enroll at Holy Cross one day. He knew that he would have neither the education, nor the means, to go there.
