Rev. Joseph Pomeroy, S.J., a longtime software administrator in the Information Technology Services department at Holy Cross, died July 16, 2009, in Weston, Mass., at 80.

Warren Schiff, a longtime member of the history department at Holy Cross, died June 16, 2009, at 84.

Edward M. Kennedy, a longtime United States senator from Massachusetts and a key figure in the development of the nation’s social policy, died Aug. 25, 2009, in Hyannis Port, Mass., at 77.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics and former College Trustee, died Aug. 11, 2009, in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Mass., at 88.
